Bekah Westmark - Preschool and Early Literacy
Bekah comes to us with a variety of work experience including early childhood education, small business ownership, and librarianship. Since 2013, Bekah has worked as the Youth Services Librarian at Coos Bay Public Library. Bekah holds a Masters Degree in Library studies. Bekah and Adam have four children and will be celebrating 18 years of marriage this summer. Bekah will be bringing her love of littles and passion for early literacy to her position as preschool teacher at Riverview Christian School.
Anna Grotzke - Kindergarten
Anna is married to Bryce Grotzke, who also serves on the Coos Bay School Board. They have two teenage children, Luke and Bella. Anna has 15 years experience as a teacher in Charter School, Public School, and homeschool. Anna currently holds a Master's Degree in Reading intervention and a Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a minor in music. Anna brings a passion for making learning FUN and interactive using movement and music in her classroom. Anna is excited to join the team at Riverview Christian School!
Addy Sparks– Kindergarten Assistant
Addy is a former homeschooling mom that is very familiar with the Abeka curriculum. She’s married to her high school sweetheart of 10 years, Chris, and together they have two children. Not only is she a staff member here at RCS, but a student at our local college finishing her general studies degree. She can often be found busting a move with the kindergarteners, racing kids to the playground, and on the weekends spending time barefoot in the garden with her family.
Liza Holland - Elementary Teacher
Liza is married to Ralph Holland & has 2 boys aged 20 & 8! She’s lived in Coos Bay all her life except for 6 years when she attended Oregon State. She’s taught in Coos Bay Public Schools for 15 years as a fourth grade teacher. Liza holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She’s attended Riverview for 5 years. She enjoys reading, gardening, walking, cooking, and spending time with family & friends. She’s excited to be a part of starting our Riverview Christian school!
McKenzie Allison - Elementary Teacher
Hi! My name is Miss McKenzie Allison! I am 23 years old and am excited to start my first year of teaching here at Riverview! It's so fun coming back to teach in Coos Bay, where I went to school myself. I love being with friends and family and learning new things. I am overjoyed to be your child's 4th, 5th or 6th grade teacher for the 2021-22 school year.
Cody Carlson - Middle School
Cody is happily married to Amber of almost 10 years and father of 4. Cody has been a teacher for Coos Bay School District for 8 years, mostly teaching in 5th grade. Cody holds a Masters Degree in Reading and Early Literacy and a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. He is also completing a second Masters Degree in Educational Administration. Cody has a passion for music and being outdoors, which is evident in the way he teaches. We are excited to have Cody as part of the Riverview Christian School Team!
Spanish, Math and School Counselor
Tony comes to us after retiring from the Coquille School District after being with them for 17 years as their Spanish teacher. Before that he retired after almost 20 years working for several school districts in the Sacramento area teaching 1-2 grade multiple subjects, junior high math, science, Core and Spanish, and High school Spanish. Before that, he taught preschool and later became the teacher-in-charge of running a before and after school child care center for a school district. Tony is also a Licensed Professional Counselor. He holds a BS degree in Human Development from UC Davis, got his teaching education at Chapman University and his Master’s Degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling and School Counseling at California State University, Sacramento. He is happily married to the love of his life, Katja, for 33 years who has given him a boy and a beautiful girl. Tony loves to spend time with his wife going hiking, working on projects and discussing interesting things. He tries to stay in shape by walking his dog every day as much as he can.
Amy and Steve Miller - 7th through 12th Grades
Amy is a secondary science teacher with a BS in genetics who has taught biology and chemistry in public schools in the past. She has recently finished home schooling her three sons and spent almost two decades teaching science classes to various home school groups and judging science fairs. She has also been a Master Food Preserver with OSU Extension since 2016. Amy has a passion for baking, canning and knitting (especially socks and toys). She is happily married to Steve, her husband of almost 34 years and they have three grown sons.
Steve is a retired air traffic controller (ATC, FLM and ATM). He has a Bachelor's in Political Science from UC Davis and has done post graduate work in mediation at UC Berkeley and training in LMR and conflict resolution at the FAA CMEL (Center for Management and Executive Leadership). His passion as a child of God, is to give our youth a firm foundation of Jesus Christ to prepare them for a world controlled by the Enemy. His greatest blessing is his wife, Amy of almost 34 years who has given him three wonderful sons. We are so excited to add Steve to our team at Riverview Christian School!
Nicole Stacey – Secretary
Nicole has been joyfully married to Reed Stacey for thirteen years and they have three wonderful children together. Nicole has worked as a Clinical Hemodialysis Technician for the last thirteen years but has felt the Lord pull her to be in the school and is excited to see where He leads her. Her family has attended Riverview for the last five years. During her free time Nicole enjoys camping, hunting, and traveling with her family.
