Frequently asked questions
Riverview Christian School’s mission is to educate students in Service, Relationships, and Academics.
Our students will be…
Expected to demonstrate a servant’s heart
Expected to assist in keeping our facilities clean
Encouraged to apply biblical principles to all relationships
Encouraged to pray in every setting
Inspired to push themselves in academic achievement
Educated in biblical truth and academic rigor
Essentially, we do things Biblically. We believe in explaining the "Moral Reason Why" to our students. We also uphold high expectations, as this is honoring to the Lord.
Students will attend Riverview Christian School in a 5 day model, Monday - Friday. Classes start at 8am, with the building open to students at 7:30am. Classes end each day at 3pm. Each day begins with Bible, then our students work through classes in Math, Science, Social Studies, and English. We also offer numerous electives to our HS and MS students (Woodshop, Mechanic, Culinary, Spanish, Computer Science, with more to come soon).
Although this ministry is designed to serve the needs of the body at Riverview Christian Fellowship, enrollment and attendance is not limited to RCF families only. Preference will be given to families in regular attendance at RCF if enrollment reaches suggested maximum class sizes. Our heart is to educate these kids that the Lord sends our way, for as long as they stay under our care. We are given this heart for our students that is rooted in John 21:15b - "Feed My Lambs".
No, currently we do not have the ability to provide a cafeteria/school lunch option for students. Therefore, ALL FULL DAY students will need to bring their own lunch from home. Please be creative with lunchboxes! #bringbackcoollunchboxes
Preschoolers will have time for a mid-class snack (consult your preschool teacher on snack day sign-ups).
This is a common question we get from our parents and interested families. Most of us on staff have children that are school-aged. We make all decisions based on prayer, then from a parent perspective, and finally as a staff that loves these kids. The average cost per student in Oregon that public schools receive from tax-based funding is $12,810/yr. RCS is less than half of that amount. In our opinion, the answer is clear. The value of our students being educated biblically and trained up for their future is worth every bit. Come visit us and see the difference!
